29 Temmuz 2021’de başlayan Marmaris yangını sırasında bölgede olan Fatih Portakal ve Şahan Gökbakar’ın kişisel Instagram hesaplarından yangınla ilgili yaptıkları paylaşımların niceliksel içerik analiziyle incelenerek, ünlü kişilerin afet döneminde haber kaynağı olarak konumlanmalarına neden olan içeriksel dinamikleri açığa çıkararak haberciliğin evrimine yönelik bir bakış açısı kazandırmak bu çalışmanın temel amacıdır. Paylaşımların sayısal etkileşimlerine yönelik ayrıntılı bilgi sağlayan sosyal mecra olarak Instagram paylaşımlarının incelenmesinde içerik analizi, verinin sayısal gösterimine imkân sağlaması sebebiyle tercih edilmiştir. Anchorman/haber sunucusu olarak kamuoyunun yakından tanıdığı Fatih Portakal’ın yangın süresince, “var olan durum”u internet teknolojisinin “anında ulaşılabilirlik” imkanı sayesinde kamuoyuna bildirme ve yangının söndürülmesi için bölge halkına ve yetkililere bilgi verme amaçlı paylaşımlar yaptığı; buna karşın, komedi filmlerinden toplumun yakından tanıdığı oyuncu ve yönetmen Şahan Gökbakar’ın, kendi evinin de bulunduğu yangın bölgesinden öznel niteliği ağır basan bir toplumsal bakış açısıyla ve görselliğe seslenen arka plan unsurları etkili biçimde kullanarak devamlılığı olan bir hikaye anlatısı biçiminde paylaşımlar yaparak daha fazla etkileşim aldığı görülmüştür. A perspective on the evolution of journalism by examining the posts of Fatih Portakal and Şahan Gökbakar, who were in the region during the Marmaris fire that started on July 29, 2021, about the fire through quantitative content analysis, revealing the contextual dynamics that caused famous people to be positioned as news sources during the disaster period. gaining is the main aim of this study. Content analysis has been preferred in the examination of Instagram shares as a social media that provides detailed information on the digital interactions of the shares, as it allows the numerical display of the data. Fatih Portakal, who is well-known to the public as the anchorman/news presenter, made posts during the fire to inform the public about the "existing situation" thanks to the "instant availability" of internet technology and to inform the local people and authorities in order to extinguish the fire; On the other hand, the actor and director Şahan Gökbakar, who is well known by the society from comedy movies, has a more subjective social perspective from the fire area, where his own house is located, and by using the background elements that appeal to the visual effectively, by sharing in the form of a continuous storytelling, he has more interaction. was found to be received. This is the new media journalism shaped by internet technology; from the “information” model where journalism began; It shows the transition to the "story" model and provides a perspective on the transformation of new media journalism by considering multidimensional communicative processes.
In this context, Fatih Portakal and Şahan Gökbakar, as two famous people who are known for their media work and actively use social media regarding private and public issues, actively used their Instagram accounts during the Marmaris fire that started while they were in the region. They contributed significantly to the relief efforts with their sharing during the Marmaris fire. With their Instagram posts, Portakal and Gökbakar actively use tags and live broadcasts to inform the authorities about the direction and effect of the fire, what has been done and what needs to be done, and to direct and accelerate the fire extinguishing efforts; Marmaris pine forests brought together the local people, officials and social media followers, and this new digitally formed public space witnessed the strengthening of social ties, the devotion and solidarity to nature and homeland, by experiencing the unity of extinguishing the fire and achieving common anxiety and happiness. At this point; It has been seen that Fatih Portakal, who comes from the journalism industry, and Şahan Gökbakar, who comes from the acting industry, convey the same subject with the same purpose, but with different methods and techniques, and in this sense, they receive different interactions. In the study, it is aimed to gain a perspective on new media journalism in the context of the use of social media and interactions by two famous people from different professions sharing on the same topic and for the same purpose, by examining the posts of Portakal and Gökbakar with quantitative content analysis.
In our study, during the forest fire that started in Marmaris on July 29, 2021; one is a famous newscaster and anchorman; the other is a famous actor. It is aimed to analyze the notifications and shares about the Marmaris fire from the personal Instagram accounts of Fatih Portakal and Şahan Gökbakar, who are well-known and sympathetic to the society as comedians and directors, with content analysis. In this way, it is aimed to gain a perspective on the evolution of social media journalism by examining the rates and forms of using and interacting with social media during disaster periods.
In the research, quantitative content analysis was preferred to examine the posts of Fatih Portakal and Şahan Gökbakar regarding the fire on their Instagram accounts between 29 July 2021 and 9 August 2021. Content analysis provides the opportunity to reach concepts and relationships that can explain the collected data. What is basically done in content analysis is to organize certain concepts and themes in a way that readers can understand and to gather similar data within a certain framework. (Selçuk, et al. 2014. 431) For this reason, quantitative content analysis was used to make an assessment of the evolution of journalism in the new media on the interactions of shares. The types of posts of Portakal and Gökbakar (live broadcast, reels, photography, written sharing, etc.), technique (front camera, rear camera, selfie shooting, voice narration, natural sound sharing, etc.), number of shares; Statistical information on interactions such as likes, views and comments were examined and analyzed.
